Contemporary Choreography | Level II

level II

Alberto’s class aims to familiarize dance practitioners with tools and strategies for playfully experimenting with interactive and gestural conversations from body to body. Through either guided improvisation or movement sequences the practitioners will be first given time to gently access their body by working through sensations, checking its alignment and exploring its anatomic structure and the movement possibilities it enables.

A special focus will be given afterwards to the rhythmical nature of movement, looking at how muscular tension and relaxation contribute to produce diverse dynamics and suggest strategies of phrasing sequences. The body wants here to be explored as a rich source of available information to be shared and exchanged in a creative way withing the group.

Whether through focusing on spatial trajectories, rhythmical patterns or physical contact, the wish is, especially in the final part, to experiment with different layers of interaction within a contemporary dance practice.

It is recommended to take the Contemporary Dance class beforehand.
